Gennadi Kirichenko was born in Lugansk to a working class family on May 16, 1968. His desire to paint was observed at a very early age. Once while walking in the park with his father, Gennadi saw an artist drawing on a planner. The boy was astonished by the artist’s ability to convey the oak tree bark so realistically on paper. The meeting transformed the boy’s future by having ignited in him a strong desire to paint.

Gennadi’s parents did not hamper the development of the new hobby. First, Gennadi entered an art studio, and later he was enrolled in a children’s art school. After graduating from the secondary school, he went on to study in Voroshilovgrad State Art college from 1983 to 1987.

Having completed his military service in one of the state border divisions, Gennadi Kirichenko worked at several art related jobs. He was an application artist, ran the Art Salon Gallery, worked as an advertisement manager, and headed the PR and advertisement division of the art union in Lugansk. Since 1996, Gennadi has been a member of Lugansk Municipal Creative Art Union. In 2003, he also became a member of Artist of Russia Creative Union and the International Artists Federation.

During almost 40 years of his life, Gennadi has been painting relentlessly and perfecting his creative skills. He studies and enjoys the works of I. Aivasovsky, K. Korovin, I. Repin, I. Shishkin, and V. Polenov.

In his free time, Gennadi likes to travel, visit museums, participates in art exhibitions in galleries in the Ukraine and Russia. All these activities fuel his creativity, enrich his knowledge and inspire his new works. Gennadi strives to achieve absolute color accuracy while getting across to the viewer nature’s mood, its character and charm. His works always demonstrate the play of light and shadow, the harmony of nature’s life giving power, the eternity of beauty and the fragility of our being.

There are works of different genres in Gennadi Kirichenko’s portfolio. He gives his personal preferences to landscape art, it is his basic and favorite theme, the closest to him.

Recent 2010 shows include a group exhibition in Chelsea, London and a group exhibition in Charlotte, North Carolina.
